The ideal candidate for the role will have several years’ experience with OpenStack cloud design and implementation.

Your engagements will see you working directly with customers and prospects. You will have confidence in knowing your skills (and limitations), you are calm and collected under pressure and always available to mentor the less experienced. Your colleagues see you as a good team player who is keen to share knowledge as well as to listen and learn from others.

You will ideally have proven experience in the production of OpenStack deployments, including large scale deployment and physical integration experience.

Travel to a customer-site in Saudi Arabia will be required.
Technical Skills
Very strong experience with Canonical distribution of OpenStack technologies – Ubuntu Server, MAAS, Juju, Charms, LXD, Ceph
Good understanding of all OpenStack Services – nova, cinder, swift, glance, keystone, and neutron
Have experience with Canonical’s latest version of OpenStack
Strong Linux, shell scripting and Networking experience is a plus
Solid understanding of Charmed Kubernetes and related techonlogies – Landscape, Livepatch
Experience of deploying Charmed Kubeflow and related techonlogies – Argo workflows, Dex, Jupyter, Pytorch, Tensorflow
Good understanding of private cloud environments, including vCloud Director is a plus
Proven experience in building PaaS or private cloud platforms including CI/CD automation, monitoring, log management, telemetry, and database solutions (DBaaS) – Postgresql and MySQL clusters
Experience of working with Elastic ELK Stack is beneficial
Experience of DevOps toolsets and principles
Demonstrate ability to analyze and solve problems both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Other skills
Degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology/engineering subject
Analytical thinking and creative problem solving; you will own issues until full resolution
Good time management skills
Good communication skills – both verbal and written – with an ability to create and share project-related documentation
Producing design documents such as HLDs and LLDs
Willingness to learn and a quick learner
Relevant certifications a big plus.

Data Architect (Abu Dhabi)

In this role you will be helping to grow the Rackspace data practice in MEA. You will be the expert in the region and support the delivery of our data projects on Azure. As the local expert, you’ll be involved in presenting to customers at events and promoting our capabilities to Azure. With a large Azure data team of over 150 people in the region it is also an opportunity to mentor and shape the data practice during our growth phase.
More generally, Data Architect are the cornerstone of our delivery success, overseeing our most strategic accounts. They are empowered to make key delivery decisions and work closely with technical resources as well as our Engagement/Project Managers to ensure our customers experience successful outcomes.
The Data Architect needs to understand client’s business and technology requirements within their domain, identify gaps, areas of opportunity, and design future state improvements and lead the team of data engineers and data analysts to deliver these with high quality and customer satisfaction.
Data Specialization
Design and architect solutions on Microsoft Azure and related technologies including ADF, ADLS, ASA, AAS, AML and Power BI
Design and Develop data Ingestion using ADF and processing layer using Databricks.
Educate clients on Cloud technologies and influence direction of the solution.
Work with the SMEs to implement data strategies and build data flows.
Manage data related requests, analyze issues and provide efficient resolution. Design all program specifications and perform required tests.
Prepare codes for all modules according to required specification.
Monitor all production issues and inquiries and provide efficient resolution.
Evaluate all functional requirements, map documents, and troubleshoot all development processes.
Document all technical specifications and associates? project deliverables.
Design all test cases to provide support to all systems and perform unit tests.
General Consultancy
Present recommendations to clients using both written deliverables and face-to-face discussions
Develop deep relationships with clients and act as the single point of contact for client executives on data engagements
Directly collaborate with the sales team to formulate and execute a sales strategy to facilitate the adoption of Azure data offerings.
Lead the professional services elements of relevant data proposals and RFP/RFI responses, including scope, effort, pricing models and SOW development.
Guide customers during big data and cloud adoption by:
Understanding drivers of technology change
Building business cases to undertake technology change
Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders, including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, client on-site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and data analysis for technology change
Identify gaps in customer maturity and capabilities in relation to their data strategy.
Identify areas of opportunity, and recommend future state improvements
Work with Engagement / Project Managers to plan the delivery of data projects, including budget, delivery resources, partner engagement, schedules and responsibilities.
Accountable for the successful outcome of data and related engagements from both a delivery (schedule, deliverables etc.) and commercial (revenue realization, budget etc.) perspective.
Lead the effort to find creative approaches to problem solving and identify, mitigate, or escalate delivery risks and issues.
Key Requirements
7+ years of success in consultative/complex deployment project, architecture, design, implementation and/or support of data and analytics solutions
Hands on development Design and Develop applications using Azure ADF Databricks
In depth understanding of Spark Architecture including Spark Core, Spark SQL, Data Frames, Spark Streaming, RDD caching, Spark MLib.
Good to have programming language experience with .NET/Python/ SQL or Spark/Scala.
Expertise in using Spark SQL with various data sources like JSON, Parquet and Key Value Pair.
Experience in creating tables, partitioning, bucketing, loading and aggregating data using Spark SQL/Scala.
In depth understanding of Azure cloud and Data lake and Analytics solutions on Azure.
Able to build ingestion to ADLS and enable BI layer for Analytics.
Experience in Machine Learning Studio, Stream Analytics, Event/IoT Hubs, and Cosmos.
Must have data migration experience from on prem to cloud.
Implementation of security protocols
Nice to have Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Strong understanding of Data Modeling and defining conceptual logical and physical data models.
Proven track record of building deep sales/technical relationships with CXO?s and practice building executives within highly strategic system integrators.
Experience in managing various client relationships to get consensus on solutions.
